Thousand Trails Colorado River

One of the more rustic thousand trails.  The lower area by the river gets almost no tv signal and no chance at the park wifi.  If you get up the hill you can get the park wifi with a good antenna.  You also need to watch the lower spots by the river to make sure you don't get into some soft ground if you are heavy.

If you like to stargaze this is a great place to be.  There are relatively few streetlights and large open areas.  There are sticky burrs so watch out for those.   There are also paths all around the park so you can get a lot of walking in.

It is quite aways from anything.  Columbus TX does have a very small Walmart and the smallest HEB ever.  Katy is about an hour away and has everything so stock up.

 

You can supply your own fire pit if its off the ground and has a cover.  You can pretty much walk around and collect firewood.

Lots of wildlife around.
